About Cardinal Education

The Cardinal Education program offers engineers and other professionals the opportunity to earn a master's degree part time through onsite and televised graduate classes. Cardinal Education is a distance learning graduate program of six universities in Virginia.

When you participate in Cardinal Education at the VCU College of Engineering, you enter a program with robust academics and real-world relevance. You will work with internationally-recognized faculty members who are committed to challenging and inspiring students (or “the returning student”). Engineering at VCU was founded on the idea of public-private partnerships, and you see this every day in the collaborative projects that bring researchers from government, industry and academia to VCU’s state-of-the-art facilities. As a Cardinal Education student at VCU, the professional insights you bring also play a vital role in our culture of entrepreneurship.

Location is another of VCU’s defining differences. We are situated in the heart of Richmond, Virginia’s multifaceted capital and a magnet for Fortune 500 companies and high-energy startups. You will benefit from our longstanding collaborative relationship with the VCU Medical Center, one of the nation’s leading academic medical programs. As a Cardinal Education student at VCU, you will participate in—and contribute to—those relationships and resources.”
